CashStash is an offline-first app. Your cash books, transactions, tags, and notes are stored only on your device. We do not run any servers, and we do not collect, sell, share, or have access to your personal or financial data.
The one feature that uses the internet is the optional Pro backup, which saves an encrypted copy of your data to your own Google Drive — into a private area that only CashStash can see. You stay in control, and we never see its contents.
This Privacy Policy describes how the CashStash Android application ("CashStash", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. It applies to anyone who installs or uses the app. By using CashStash, you agree to the practices described here.
We do not collect any personal information. CashStash has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash-reporting SDKs, and no developer-operated backend server. We have no way to identify you or to see how you use the app.
Everything you enter into CashStash stays on your device, in the app's private storage, unless you explicitly choose to back it up or export it. This includes:
This data is held locally using the device's standard app storage (an on-device database and preferences). It is removed when you delete the data in-app or uninstall the app. We never receive a copy of it.
If you purchase the one-time Pro upgrade, you can back up and restore your data using Google Drive. This feature is optional and only runs when you choose to back up or restore.

Sign-in is handled by Google's own libraries. CashStash requests only the permission needed to manage its own backup files in your Drive (the app-data scope) — nothing else, such as your other Drive files, contacts, or email. We use your sign-in solely to authorize the backup and restore you requested, and we do not store your Google account details on any server (we have none).
The Pro upgrade is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or receive your payment card or billing details. Google may provide the app with a purchase confirmation token so the app can verify and restore your Pro entitlement. Your purchase is governed by Google Play's terms and privacy policy.
CashStash lets you export your transactions to a CSV file. This action is initiated entirely by you. When you share or save the file, it goes to the destination you choose (for example, an email app, messaging app, or file storage). We are not involved in and have no visibility into where you send it.
CashStash relies on the following Google services only when you use the relevant optional features. Their handling of data is governed by Google's policies:

CashStash is a general-purpose finance tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect any information from children, as we do not collect personal information from anyone.
Your data is stored in the app's private storage on your device, and any Drive backup is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before leaving your device. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, but because the app does not transmit your financial data to us and encrypts backups, your information stays under your control.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be noted within the app or its store listing.
